I live about 45 minutes north of Daytona and ride into Biketoberfest every year. Below is what I'd tell a friend heading down for the first time: where things are, what's on, where to ride, the Florida rules that trip up out-of-state riders, and what to do if something goes wrong. Save the link on your phone before you leave.

Because trust me, you don't want to be the person finding out that Speedway blvd is a parking lot when the locals are all driving behind it with no problems.

Biketoberfest 2026 at a Glance

  • Dates: Thursday, October 15 to Sunday, October 18, 2026. The 34th annual Biketoberfest.

  • Where: Countywide, centered on Main Street in Daytona Beach, Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach, and Daytona International Speedway.

  • Cost: The rally itself is free. You pay for concerts, some parties, racing admission, food and fuel.

  • Welcome Center: Trackside in the Speedway's display area. Free posters, pins and poker chips while supplies last.

  • Official app: The free Biketoberfest app has the daily schedule, bike shows, rides and the MotoPassport scavenger hunt.

The Biketoberfest Map

The map has six layers you can switch on and off: the rally hubs, all 12 MotoPassport stops, the best rides, the six official trailer lots, the area's emergency rooms, and the airport.

Where the Rally Actually Happens

  • Main Street in downtown Daytona is the loud, bar-lined heart of it, and it peaks Friday and Saturday night. Motorcycle parking is free. Slingshots are not allowed on Main Street or on Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard in Midtown during the rally. Trikes and bikes with sidecars are.

  • Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach is the big Harley-Davidson complex, with vendors, stages and the easiest daytime scene of the three.

  • Daytona International Speedway hosts the official Welcome Center and the weekend's motorcycle road racing.

If it's your first rally, start with my first-timer's survival guide for crowd timing, what to wear and where to park the bike.

Racing at the Speedway: The 2026 Race of Champions

If you've never watched motorcycles on the Daytona road course, this is the cheap way in. The racing is run by the American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) and the Championship Cup Series (CCS), and only infield admission is sold, so you're watching from inside the track. Tickets are through Daytona International Speedway, where the event is listed as the Fall Cycle Scene.

Day

What's on

Every morning

Rider sign-in and tech at 7 a.m., riders' meeting at 8, so racing starts early.

Friday, October 16

Two qualifying rounds, opening ceremonies at midday, then a two-and-a-half-hour ASRA endurance and team challenge race, supersport races, and round one of the Barnett National Sidecar Challenge.

Saturday, October 17

Sidecar race two, the ASRA supersport, stock 1000, Thunderbike and heavyweight classes, and the Unlimited Superbike Shootout.

Sunday, October 18

The ASRA 500 Cup, Thunderbike, heavyweight, supersport and superstock 1000 races, then the GP classes.

My pick is Saturday. Most riders never see sidecar racing in person, and the Unlimited Superbike Shootout closes out the day. Watch for the Red Flag Cup too, a pit-bike race for machines of 135cc or less that raises money for the Airfence at Daytona, the safety barrier that protects the racers.

If you have not read my story about a sidecar racer it'll give you some insight into what is going through their minds. The only difference is that Samantha is legally blind... check it out.

Biketoberfest Trailer Parking

The MotoPassport Scavenger Hunt

Do this one, especially with a passenger or a crew. Create an account in the official Biketoberfest app and check in at all 12 locations. The first 300 people to finish get an exclusive collectible coin, picked up at the Welcome Center, the final stop.

  1. Copper Bottom Craft Distillery

  2. Daytona Beach Poker

  3. Florida Motorcycle Safety Program (tent trackside in the Speedway's display area)

  4. Indian Motorcycle Daytona Beach, on Beach Street

  5. RideNow Powersports, on US 1 in Holly Hill

  6. Rue & Ziffra (tent at Willie's Tropical Tattoo on US 1 in Ormond Beach)

  7. Tanger Daytona Beach (check-in spot to be announced)

  8. Teddy Morse's Daytona Harley-Davidson at Destination Daytona

  9. Progressive Insurance tent at Destination Daytona

  10. Ponce Inlet Lighthouse

  11. Main Street Tattoo

  12. The Official Biketoberfest Welcome Center (final stop)

Even if you skip the coin, the stops lay out a good day's ride from Ormond Beach down to the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse.

Where to Ride During Biketoberfest

Some of the best riding of the week is away from Main Street, on the roads around it.

The Ormond Scenic Loop. Thirty-plus miles of oak canopy, marsh and Intracoastal views just north of the rally. Ride it early, before the crowds wake up. Read the full ride. But check the tides, the water over the marsh has been high this year and you can easily get a washed out road only passable with a dual sport.

Beyond the Loop. Got a whole day? Go through Tomoka State Park, up A1A past Flagler Beach to St. Augustine, and back along the St. Johns River. About four hours of riding. Get the route.

A1A south to Ponce Inlet. An easy coastal run, and the Lighthouse at the end is one of the MotoPassport stops.

Florida Rules That Catch Out-of-State Riders

  • Helmets. Riders and passengers under 21 must wear a helmet. Over 21, you can legally ride without one only if you're covered by an insurance policy with at least $10,000 in medical benefits for motorcycle crash injuries.

  • Eye protection. Every operator must wear approved eye protection, whatever your age or insurance. You would be shocked how much the police will pull people over for this shit.

  • Slingshots. Not allowed on Main Street or Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard during the rally.

If Something Goes Wrong

Call 911 for any emergency. Know where these are before you need them:

  • Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach, 303 N. Clyde Morris Blvd. The area's only Level II Trauma Center, with a 24-hour emergency department.

  • AdventHealth Daytona Beach, 301 Memorial Medical Parkway. Full emergency department.

  • Halifax Health Freestanding Emergency Room, at Hand Avenue and Williamson Boulevard, convenient to Ormond Beach and Destination Daytona.

For a mechanical problem, the dealers on the MotoPassport list (Teddy Morse's Daytona Harley-Davidson, Indian Motorcycle Daytona Beach and RideNow Powersports) are good first calls. Call ahead, because service departments book up during the rally.

For Passengers and Guests Who Don't Ride

  • Do the MotoPassport hunt as a team. The passenger runs the app, the rider runs the route.

  • Climb the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. It's a MotoPassport stop, and the view from the top is hard to beat.

  • Take in the daytime scene on Main Street, Beach Street and at Destination Daytona, with vendors, bike shows and people watching.

  • Catch the racing from the Speedway infield.

  • Shop Tanger Daytona Beach, also a MotoPassport stop.

  • Take the day trip to St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city, about an hour up the coast.

Where to Stay for Biketoberfest

Daytona hotels triple their rates for rally weekend and still sell out. Two better options: stay outside Daytona and ride in, or camp it. Still deciding between this and March? Here's Biketoberfest vs. Bike Week.

Rider's Packing Checklist

  • Approved eye protection (it's the law), plus a clear lens for night

  • Rain gear. October in Florida can still throw a storm at you, and hurricane season runs through November.

  • Proof of insurance, and your medical coverage details if you ride without a helmet

  • Earplugs for Main Street

  • Cash for vendors, parking and the stuff you'll want

  • Phone charger or battery pack, with the Biketoberfest app downloaded before you leave

  • A disc lock and a cover for the bike
