A note about Cycle World....

Motorcycle media just lost one of its own. Cycle World, the oldest motorcycle magazine in America, running since 1962, is winding down. The magazine stopped publishing in 2020, but the entire Cycle World arm of Octane has closed down as as of July 7th. Whatever you thought of it, that’s more than sixty years of road tests, race coverage, and stories that got a lot of us into this in the first place. That deserves a nod, not a victory lap.

So here’s the nod.

Thank you to everyone who made pages there for six decades. A lot of us learned what good motorcycle writing sounded like from them.

Now here’s the part that matters for the rest of us.

The stories don’t stop when a magazine does. The riders are all still out there. The guy wrenching in his garage at midnight. The couple two-up on a loaded adventure bike in the middle of nowhere. The vintage nut, the track-day addict, the commuter. None of them powered down.

They just lost one of the places that told their stories.

That’s the whole reason American Moto Co exists.
